Smuggle your booze into festivals

Smuggle your booze into festivals

Smuggle your booze Inc from America have finally come up with 3 fool proof ( well almost ) ways of trying to smuggle your booze into a festival / night club or bar . With products mainly aimed to help the female population sneak in their favorite tipple.

Fake Tampon Booze Tubes

The Fake Tampon booze tube is our favorite one and we are certain that no hairy arsed bouncer is going to question seeing Tampon’s in a girls bag but little do they know you’ve concealed 5 shots of either neat spirits or a pre mixed cocktail inside.

Fake Sun cream Flask

The fake suncream bottle will conceal 8 Floz of booze safely and comes with a funnel as part of the deal to help you fill it up. Once again no bouncer is going to question someone with suncream on a sunny festival day or indeed question why a girl might have that at the bottom of her handbag .

Soft Booze Bags

Soft booze bags are perfect to conceal in your bra , down your trousers or in your socks or welly’s , Each pack comes with 4 bags that will conceal 4 Fl 0z each and a funnel to help you fill them. Again no bouncer is going to check in your bra or down your pants when giving you the once over !

Festival Tents

Festival Tents

We often get asked what’s the best tent for a festival and that’s a really difficult question to answer as it normally depends on your budget , age , experience and the festival you might be going to . Normally if you are a festival virgin and on a budget then just about anything will do as you generally don’t care and probably won’t spend any time in your tent anyway ! you are normally happy to buy the cheapest single skinned tent you can get your hands on and a Quickpitch pop up style tent tends to tick your boxes

Gelert-Quickpitch-Compact-2-Red

As your experience and budget increases people tend to upgrade to something with a little more room as you’ve now realised that 2 man festival tent doesn’t mean 2 man plus all your gear and single skinned doesn’t offer you the same protection against the elements ( on cheaper brands ) as the double skinned version do so you’ve tended to move onto a 3 Man festival tent even though there is only 1 or 2 of you

BlackRock_Jamboree

By now you are a hardened festival goer and you now camp as a large group of you ,all whom have done this before and now want a little more luxury and space because of all the additional luxury items you now bring with you ( normally a trailer full ). You have decided that you are going to spend more money and go for something that will see you through the next few festivals and might even be used out of the festival season for general camping. This normally involves a big jump from the £40 – £50 range to the £250 + and this is where the Canvas Tepee tents and large dome style tents enter the market. The POD range covers both a large 4 man and a huge 8 man plus the option of joining them together to become a festival Legend.

So in short the perfect festival tent is the one you can afford at that point in your life and delivers the comfort you’re looking for.

Avoiding Festival Toilets

Avoiding Festival Toilets

Anyone who had been to a festival knows that within what seems minutes of the gates opening the toilets are already a disaster zone and you would rather chew your arm off than actually use one. Whilst there has been an increase in the “pay to poo” style luxury toilets at many festivals the majority of us are left to face the commoners cubicles. With this is mind we have decided to list the products that can help us in the battle to avoid the bogs and make our lives easier at festivals :

Travel Johns

If you don’t know about Travel Johns then where have you been hiding ?? these are at the front line of toilet avoidance and suitable for both men and women as they have a ergonomically shaped plastic section that fits ladies  ( well you get the idea).. Simply un-roll the bag and pee into it , your pee then turns into a gel instantly with no fuss , no mess and no smell , it really is that simple. Then just bin the bag into the normal waste bin, perfect at night when you don’t want to leave the tent and if you are clever enough and have a good set of friends that can act as “guards” you can even use them in a big crowd of people without anyone knowing. Personally these are one of the first things packed into my festival bag and i wouldn’t go to a festival without them.

Shewee extreme

Shewee Extreme is the plastic funnel device that allows ladies to stand up and pee like a man ! once you’ve tried it you will realise just how difficult this is ladies to direct it where you need it to go after a few beers . Again like the Travel John the Shewee is ergonomically shaped to fit you ladies and with the extreme version you also get a directional tube to help direct the pee away from you. With a Shewee you can now stand with the guys and pee up that tree rather than squatting in the woods and you’ll have hours of fun and giggles trying to get the hang of it !

Folding Toilets

These great light weight portable folding toilets complete with bags are the dream solution if you want to stay in your own tent and poo although make sure your mates are happy about this before to go ! With these toilets you poo into the bag and then you still need to take the filled bag to the toilets to dispose of it as no one wants to find a bag of your poo on the floor or in a standard bin. At least it will only be a short trip to dispose of it rather a nose holding , hovering experience as usual..

HOTCAN – New range of flavors launched

Hotcan have launched the new new of flavors for their 2014 range and although some of the old favorites have gone they have been replaced with some great alternatives so gone are beans with balls and bangers and beans but now we have the full range in stock that includes :

All day breakfast ,Beans & Burger bites, Beef Hotpot , Beef stew & Dumplings , Vegetable Balti & Vegetable Hot Pot .

Hotcans are an amazing product  that requires you to simply pierce the can in 3 places and sit back for 8-12 minutes .Inside is a can of food surrounded by an outer can and in the space between the two cans is a water sachet and granular limestone (the same compound found in some toothpastes). When you insert the spike into the three holes in the top rim of the can this pierces the water sachet, the water then flows into the limestone and a natural reaction occurs between the limestone and water which produces heat. This warms up the food inside the can and within 8-12 minutes it will be a perfect eating temperature.

These are an absolute festival essential and they should 100% be on your shopping list

Festival Camping tips & advice

Festival Camping Tips & Advice

Having spent many years and lots of different festival’s worth of experience we thought it would be helpful to pass on some of the knowledge we have learnt ( often the hard way) to ensure you don’t make the same mistakes. We have listed down our top 10 tips for festival camping and hope it helps those of you who are festival virgins through those muddy fields , missing hours and sleep deprivation to enjoy your experience just a little more.

1. Choose a bigger tent then you need

This is probably the biggest mistake people make, a 2-man tent is for 2 people lying side by side in sleeping bags it does not account for the mountains of stuff you will be bringing along with you! Always go 1 bigger as a minimum after all you can never have enough room and it means you can give a space to the random you’ll meet along the way.

2. Choose your spot carefully

Arrive early for the best choice of pitches. Try and choose a spot that is within site of landmarks you’ll remember and will be visible when you wake up to a field full of tents as far as the eye can see. Whatever you do stay clear of the toilets and anything down hill of the toilets unless you like the smell! Also steer clear of the security towers and lights unless you like the constant noise of a generator and bright light shinning through your tent all night.

3. Claim you spot

Do whatever you can to mark out your territory if you don’t want to wake up to the side of someone’s tent in the morning. Remember this is festival camping so the usual rules don’t apply people will pitch anywhere and everywhere in desperation.

4. Form a circle

If you go as a group then the “circle” is a good approach it worked for the cowboys so it will work for you. Make sure all your openings face inwards that way if it does chuck it down you can sit in your tents with the flaps open chatting to each other. I would also suggest using windbreaks or tape in between the gaps to try and deter people strolling through your “camp”.

5. Identify your tent

It might seem stupid after all you know what your tent looks like right? Wrong! After a day of cider they will all look the same so try adding a flag or a spinner on a pole or anything you can do to make your tent stand out. Writing “free sex, see inside” will do the trick but you might not like the people who come knocking, then again maybe you will (let me know how that works for you).

6. Make friends with you neighbours

Getting to know the people who have pitched their tents near yours it will add to your festival experience and also to the amount of eyes that will watch over your camp when your not there.

7. Don’t lock you tent

Don’t be tempted to put a lock on your tent whilst it might seem like a good idea it simply highlights to any would be thieves that you have something worth stealing inside. Lets face it a knife will cut through the side of any tent so your also wasting your time. To be safe don’t take anything with you that you are not prepared to lose.

8. Hide your valuables when asleep

Don’t make it easy for thieves by stuffing your wallet/money or valuables in your boots by the front of the tent put them inside you sleeping bag or by your head so they are the furthest away from the entrance.

9. Plan for disaster

Drunk people tend to fall over and tents don’t offer a lot of support so when the 2 meet poles tend to get broken so take some Gaffa tape with you to try and patch up any broken poles.

10. Enjoy yourself

Lets remember your there to enjoy yourself so do just that, drink lots, meet new friends and party your arse off!
